Net FX was started by Shawn Smith in 2004 with the goal of training and developing the best young goaltenders in the Ottawa area. Since then, it has expanded into the largest and most talked about goaltending school in the area, operating year-round and training over 100 goaltenders.
Shawn brings over 10 years of goalie coaching experience, and a lifetime in the education field. He has been a goaltending coach with two Jr. A teams in the Ottawa area. He brings unparalleled communication skills and technical understanding to his students.
Net FX is open to students at all levels. But the greatest achievement of the school is that every year, a large percentage of our students move up to a higher level of hockey. Whether it is from AAA to the junior ranks or from house league to B competitive, our goalies are getting better every time they step on the ice.
